NEAP is proud to announce that we have been named the winner of the HIA-LI Small Business Distinction Award, recognizing NEAP’s contributions to the Long Island business community and our commitment to supporting organizations and their employees.

The award was presented at the HIA-LI Business Achievement Awards, an annual celebration of Long Island businesses and organizations that contribute to the strength, innovation, and growth of the region.

For NEAP, this recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects not only what we do, but the people who make our work possible every day.

Celebrating the People Behind NEAP

For more than 40 years, NEAP has helped employers support the wellbeing of their people through employee assistance programs (EAP), organizational services, training, and other workplace wellbeing solutions.

Accepting the Small Business Distinction Award, NEAP President & CEO, Aoifa O’Donnell emphasized that the recognition belongs to the entire NEAP team.

Our counselors, coaches, and dedicated professionals are at the heart of our work. They provide compassionate, responsive support to employees, leaders, and organizations navigating challenges at work and in life.

As Aoifa shared during her acceptance speech:

"They care deeply. They listen well. And they never lose sight of the fact that behind every client request, every challenge we are asked to solve, and every vulnerable and brave conversation someone has with us is a human being asking for help."

That commitment to people is what drives NEAP every day.

Pressure Is a Privilege

Running a small business comes with challenges. It also comes with the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, earn the trust of clients, and make a tangible difference in the community.

During her acceptance speech, Aoifa shared a quote from Billie Jean King that has become a perspective she returns to when things get difficult:

“Pressure is a privilege.” — Billie Jean King

For NEAP, that sentiment reflects the responsibility that comes with supporting organizations and their employees during some of their most challenging moments.

When an employee reaches out to an EAP for help, when a manager needs guidance navigating a difficult situation, or when an organization is looking for ways to strengthen employee wellbeing, there is a person behind that need.

Being trusted in those moments is a responsibility, and a privilege.

Supporting Long Island Organizations and Their Employees

As a Long Island-based employee assistance provider, NEAP is proud to work with organizations that recognize the importance of supporting their employees' mental, emotional, and overall wellbeing.

Our approach goes beyond simply providing an employee assistance program. We work alongside organizations to help address the diverse needs of their workforce through personalized support, organizational services, training, and resources.

For employers, investing in employee wellbeing can mean giving people the tools and support they need to navigate challenges, remain engaged, and thrive both personally and professionally.

That is the difference we strive to make every day.

Thank You to Our Clients, Partners, and Long Island Community

We are incredibly grateful to the clients and partners who have trusted NEAP throughout our journey. Your partnership has allowed us to grow, evolve, and continue providing meaningful support to employees and organizations across Long Island and beyond.

We also want to extend our congratulations to all of the HIA-LI Business Achievement Award winners and our fellow nominees. It was an honor to be recognized alongside so many outstanding Long Island businesses and organizations.

Thank you to HIA-LI for recognizing the contributions of small businesses and for creating an opportunity to celebrate the people and organizations helping our region thrive.

Most of all, we thank the NEAP team.
‍This award belongs to you.

We are incredibly proud of what we have built together and excited about the opportunity to continue helping organizations and their people navigate whatever comes next.
