The HIA-LI Health & Wellness Committee brought together professionals from across Long Island for a focused conversation on one of today’s most urgent workplace challenges: burnout. National EAP and Athrú Training were proud to play a leading role in that discussion as Erin McKown, Director of Athrú Training, delivered an insightful and action-oriented session titled “Empowering Leaders to Tackle Burnout: Strategies for Organizational and Personal Well-Being.”
Erin guided attendees through a clear breakdown of what burnout really looks like—beyond the buzzword. She explored the organizational contributors that often go unnoticed, the personal factors that elevate risk, and the leadership behaviors that can either fuel or prevent burnout. Participants walked away with practical strategies they could implement immediately, both to support their teams and to protect their own well-being as leaders.
The session sparked thoughtful dialogue among committee members, thanks in part to the strong partnership and coordination of Health & Wellness Committee co-chairs Sarah Weber, CSP, and Heather Dufficy. Their ongoing commitment to elevating conversations around workplace health made the session a productive and collaborative experience.
For National EAP and Athrú Training, this event underscored the growing need for organizations to invest in modern, evidence-based approaches to employee well-being and leadership development. Burnout isn’t an individual failure—it’s a workplace challenge that requires workplace solutions. And when leaders are equipped with the right tools, the positive impact can be felt across teams, departments, and entire organizations.
If your company is looking to strengthen leadership, reduce burnout, and build a more resilient workforce, we invite you to partner with National EAP and Athrú. Through expert training, coaching, and comprehensive employee support services, we help organizations create environments where people can thrive—not just get by.
Let’s build healthier workplaces together.
