On May 6, 2025, National EAP joined the Philanthropy Network of New York (PNNY) at the Wheelchair Basketball Tournament held at The Viscardi Center. The event brought together community members, corporate volunteers, andnonprofit organizations for a day of friendly competition and advocacy, all insupport of The Viscardi Center’s mission to educate, employ, and empowerchildren, adolescents, and adults with disabilities, fostering inclusion,independence, and opportunity.
Representing National EAP, Kim Robinson teamed up with JillAlexander from USI Insurance Services to support the cause and participate inthe basketball games. Attendees had the chance to engage directly with theathletes, learn about adaptive sports, and gain a deeper appreciation for theskill, determination, and teamwork involved in wheelchair basketball.
The tournament showcased not just athletic talent but alsothe power of community, collaboration, and purpose-driven engagement.Participants and volunteers alike were inspired by the energy, camaraderie, andcommitment to inclusion that permeated the day.
National EAP is proud to support initiatives like this thatpromote accessibility, advocacy, and empowerment for individuals of allabilities. Events like the PNNY Wheelchair Basketball Tournament remind us ofthe importance of fostering inclusive communities where everyone has theopportunity to thrive.
