This week, our very own Aoifa O’Donnell represented National EAP on the “Permission to Achieve” Panel at the Herald Community Newspapers 2nd annual WE Summit Conference! Other esteemed panelists included Sharen Phillips, Director at Google; Tifphani White-King, Partner at Forvis Mazars; Maria P. Conzatti, President at Nassau Community College; and
Christina Armentano, Executive VP and COO at Paraco Gas.
These inspiring women shared invaluable insights and offered advice on how to get out of your own way and give yourself permission to achieve. They discussed the internal and external barriers women too often face, and the importance of pushing through our doubt and creating spaces of belonging for ourselves and other women.
A major takeaway Aoifa shared with the audience was the need to “Let that SHOULD go!” Too often our mind is dominated by all the should’s we and others tell us are important but just wear us down. It is time to end that pressure cooker thinking and instead embrace a language and mindset that fuels us into our greatness. These fantastic women’s stories, expertise, and passion shone through, inspiring many in attendance.
Additionally, National EAP’s Stephanie Devine and Vincent J. Accardi attended the event, where they engaged with attendees and showcased our services at our networking booth. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with top level professionals and share our commitment to workplace wellness.
Thank you to everyone who put together this incredible event and to all the wonderful Long Island businesspeople we got to connect with. “(WE) are UNSTOPPABLE”
